Murray State basketball student-athlete Danero Thomas is the Pepsi Athlete of the Week after he scored 34 points in two games last week as the Racers split games with Eastern Illinois and Tennessee State.

Thomas, who was also nominated for Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week scored 18 points on 4-of-8 shooting Jan. 3 at Eastern Illinois, a game MSU lost in overtime 83-80.

He scored 16 in MSU's Jan. 5 win at home over Tennessee State on the same 4-of-8 shooting.
