Kayleah Sauer Named Pepsi Student-Athlete of the Week

Freshmen Kayleah Sauer has been named Pepsi Student-Athlete of the Week for Oct. 27-Nov. 2 after the Murray State volleyball team went 2-1 in OVC action. Sauer also earned the Ohio Valley ConferenceDefensive Player of the week accolades.

The Lousiville, Ky., native earned her first OVC Defensive Player of the Week honors after recording the third highest number of digs in a five-set match in Division I this season with a career-best 42 against Southeast Missouri State (Oct. 28). The mark also tied her for the No. 14 spot on the OVC individual digs per match records and accounted for 44% of the Racers 96 digs in the match. The Louisville, Ky., native followed that performance with 19 digs in three sets against Tennessee State and 30 in five sets against Austin Peay.
