Williams Named Pepsi Athlete of the Week

Senior linebacker Nathan Williams received his third honor this week when he was named the MSU Pepsi Student-Athlete of the Week. Earlier this week, Williams was named the National FCS Defensive Player of the Week by The Sports Network, as well OVC Defensive Player of the Week.
Williams (Murray, Ky.) received this honor after posting a career-high 23 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery in the game against Illinois State. His 23 tackles are the most by any player at any level of college football this season. He owns two of the top five single-game tackle performances in the FCS this season.
On the season, Williams has 49 tackles (23 solo), 3.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble. He leads the FCS in total tackles and tackle per game (16.33), while ranking second in solo tackles.
For his career, Williams has 266 tackles (155 solo), 10.5 tackles-for-loss, 4.5 sacks, five fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
