Katelyn Jones named Pepsi-MSU Athlete of the Week

Sophomore Katelyn Jones has been named the Pepsi-MSU Athlete of the Week for Jan. 19-25 for her performance at the Gladstein Invitational host by Indiana University.

Jones carried over her exceptional performance from the 2008 cross-country season to take second place and the Racer record in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:18.36. The record was held by Linnea Brammer back in 1985 with a time of 17:37.3. Jones also holds the school record in the 3,000-meter run (9:56.01), 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:57.92), and the distance medley relay (12:08.11).
