MSU Schedule
Murray State Athletics and NewWave Communications announced the broadcast schedule for the 2011-12 season of MSU basketball on the Racer TV Network, with a schedule of seven games to be aired live.
The first broadcast happens when the Racers travel to Bowling Green, Ky. (Dec. 1) for their 149th meeting with Western Kentucky. In 2012, the Racer TV Network will air MSU road games at Morehead State (Jan. 18) and SIU Edwardsville (Jan. 21). Three games are on the broadcast schedule in February, including MSU at UT Martin (Feb. 4), at Tennessee State (Feb. 23) and at Tennessee Tech (Feb. 25).
The games on the Racer TV Network are available to all 100,000-plus NewWave, Mediacom, Murray Electric and Comcast subscribers at no additional charge.
NewWave customers will see the broadcasts on channel 16, in all areas west of Kentucky Lake and in Hopkinsville and Madisonville. Mediacom is seen in Marshall, Calloway, Trigg and Caldwell Counties as well as southern Illinois on channel 23. Murray Electric services the city of Murray and carries the games on channels 15 and 18, while Comcast subscribers will see the Racers on channel 17 in McCracken County and southern Illinois.
Veteran WCBL announcer Jeff Waters will handle play-by-play duties, while Dave Winder, MSU Assistant AD for Media Relations will provide color. The games are produced by Hopkinsville's Source 16.
The Racers are also a big part of the Ohio Valley Conference's television package with ESPNU. The Racers' game at Austin Peay (Jan. 7) will air on ESPNU as will their home game against Tennessee Tech (Jan. 14). If the Racers are able to make it to the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament semi-finals and finals, those games will also air on the ESPN networks. In addition, the Racers' contest at Memphis (Dec. 11) will be carried by CSS.
The Racer TV Network has been a great success since the partnership between MSU Athletics and NewWave Communications was formed in 2008 and has delivered a total of 28 live MSU football and basketball games. MSU's final two road football games are also scheduled to air on the Racer TV Network this season with games at Tennessee Tech (Nov. 5) and at Southeast Missouri (Nov. 19).
