Murray State senior forward Ed Daniel was named the Murray State Pepsi Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Racers' two victories over Old Dominion (79-72) and Lipscomb (88-79) during the past week.
Daniel averaged 17.5 points and 16.5 rebounds in the two contests while breaking his own career-high for single game rebounds in each win. Daniel had 15 points and 15 boards while going 5-for-9 from the field in the win over ODU. He followed up that performance by then scoring 20 points, which tied a season-high and grabbing a career-best 18 rebounds against Lipscomb. Daniel also recorded five blocks in the win over the Bisons.
The two contests marked the third and fourth consecutive games with a double-double this season for Daniel. The Racers will return to action on Dec. 4 as they will host Bethel University in a 7 p.m. game at The Bank.
