Racers Set School Marks at NCAA Regional

The Murray State women's cross country team traveled to Charlotte, N.C., on Friday for the NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by Charlotte.
Abigail Ashbee-Simmonds led the Racers with a 40th-place finish and a new career-best time of 21:35.73. Ashbee-Simmonds also broke her own record of 21:50.5 earlier this season for the best 6K time in program history in Friday's race.
Carolyne Tanui ran a new PR with a time of 22:15.37 and finished in 84th. Tanui's time is the third-fastest in MSU history. Rebecca Hbetamu ran a season-best time for her on Friday, running a time of 22:32.50, which is the ninth-best time in school history.
Brittany Bohn also set a new career-best in the race, Bohn finished 167th and ran a time of 23:25.57. Abbie Oliver ran a time of 23:39.71 and placed 183rd. Bridget Stichnot (24:48.34) and Leah Krause (25:03.22) rounded-out the times for the Racers at the regional.
Lucas Prather was the lone participant for the Racer men's team on Friday. Prather finished 181st in the race, running a 10K time of 34:03.57.
