Canaan, Robinson Named Pepsi Athletes of the Week

A pair of record-setting Racers has been named the Murray State Pepsi Athlete of the Week for their performances last week for MSU.
Isaiah Canaan and Mariah Robinson are the recent recipients of the weekly honor. Both Canaan and Robinson became Murray State's all-time leaders for career 3-pointers made on Saturday. Canaan surpassed Frank Allen ('93) in the Racers' 74-66 win over Southeast Missouri on Saturday with his 252nd career three. Canaan now has 254 as a Racer.
Robinson set the women's record in the Racers' 82-72 victory over UT Martin. Robinson passed Amber Guffey ('09) with her 211th career 3-pointer. Robinson now has 215 for her career.
Canaan averaged 23 points per game in MSU's two victories last week. The Racers also recorded 73-62 victory over UT Martin on Thursday. Robinson went on to average 23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, four assists and 3.5 steals per game in Murray State's two games this past week.
The Racer men return to action on Wednesday as they host Eastern Kentucky in a 7 p.m. tip from the CFSB Center. The MSU women will finish its three-game road swing on Saturday when the Racers face Austin Peay in a doubleheader with the men.
