Women's Tennis Wins Fourth-Straight

The Murray State women's tennis team captured its fourth consecutive win and second-straight 7-0 victory Tuesday afternoon as they defeated Austin Peay at Bennie Purcell Courts. The win pushes the Racers to 8-7 overall and 5-1 in the OVC.
The Racers won two of the three doubles matches Tuesday, winning at number two and three to take the doubles point. The duo of Megan Blue and Carla Suga won at number two 8-4, while the tandem of Erin Patton and Suzaan Stoltz were victorious at number three 8-2.
The singles portion of the match was tightly contested at three of the match-ups. Suga and Blue won at number two and three, respectively in three sets. Suga won her match 3-6, 6-2 and 6-3 while Blue won 4-6, 6-3 and 6-3. Huerth squeaked out a victory of her own, winning 9-8 at number five singles.
Canty, Patton and Stoltz won their singles matches in straight sets. Canty won at number one 6-1 and 6-4. While Patton took number four 6-2, 6-2 and Stoltz cruised 6-0, 6-0.
Blue, Patton and Suga all won their fourth consecutive singles matches in the victory, while Huerth picked up her third-straight win.
The Racers will look for five and six straight this weekend as they hit the road for a pair of matches in Nashville. MSU will face Belmont on Saturday and Tennessee State on Sunday, both matches are set to begin at 10 a.m.
