Racer Women's Tennis Continues Streak With Win Over Belmont

The Murray State women's tennis team rattled off its fifth consecutive victory on Saturday as it defeated Belmont 4-1 in OVC action.
The Racers took the doubles point in the match by winning two of the three matchups. The team of Ashley Canty and Carolyn Huerth were victorious at number one 8-3. The duo of Carla Suga and Megan Blue won at number two 8-4, while the team of Suzaan Stoltz and Erin Patton lost at number three 8-4.
The Racers went on to win three of four singles matches that were finished to secure the victory. Canty won her third-straight match at number one, defeating Belmont's Nikki Maciel 6-3 and 6-1. Suga went on to win her fifth-straight match at number two singles, winning 6-3, 6-3 over Catherine Holliday.
Stoltz grabbed the Racers' other singles victory, winning at number six 6-2, 6-4. Huerth fell at number five for MSU, losing 6-1 and 6-1. Blue's match at number three and Patton's match at number four singles went unfinished after the Racers had clinched.
Murray State returns back to action quickly as it will face Tennessee State Sunday morning beginning at 10.
