Game Notes
The Racers lead the all-time series with Austin Peay 79-43. MSU had won six straight games at APSU since their last loss in 2009.
The two wins today for APSU over the Racers in women's and men's basketball makes the Heritage Bank Battle of the Border series a little closer. With three points for each win, Austin Peay trails Murray State 16.5 to 7.5 points. Prior to today, MSU had defeated the Govs in football, soccer, volleyball, and cross country. The next events in the Battle of the Border happen when the APSU basketball teams visit Murray State on Feb. 11.
Terrell Miller had his eighth double-double this season and sixth in last six games with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Gee McGhee had a quite a run for at the free throw line. He had made 24 in a row until he missed late in the second half. He had not missed since the Bethel game on Dec. 12. Bryce Jones hit 22 straight last season, Jeffery Moss 22 in 2014. The MSU record by Greg Coble from 1989-90 of 33 in a row certainly has stood test of time. #Racers
The Racers are home next week for a pair of OVC games against Southeast Missouri Thursday and UT Martin Saturday. Both games are women's/men's doubleheaders at the CFBS Center with tip times of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
