Racers Finish Eighth in OVC Championship

Competing in the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championship Saturday, the Murray State Racers men's cross country squad finished eighth with a team score of 227 and total time of 2:10:42 in the 8k. The 2017 OVC Championship was hosted by Eastern Illinois at Tom Woodfall Panther Trail.
Coming in first for the Racers was Mark Ventura, who finished 28th with a PR of 25:15.1. Next to finish for Murray State was Gavin Galanes, who finished 43rd with a time of 25:40.6.
"It was nice to see 4 individuals PR's today when it mattered most. I am proud of what they have accomplished so far this season and am looking forward to seeing them be competitive in the 10k in two weeks at Regionals," said head coach Adam Kiesler.
The Racers will next compete at the NCAA Southeast regional in Earlysville, Va. On Friday, November 10.
