Racers Finish Sixth in OVC Championship

Competing in the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championship Saturday, the Murray State women's cross country squad finished sixth with a team score of 167 and total time of 1:32:36 in the 5k. The 2017 OVC Championship was hosted by Eastern Illinois at Tom Woodfall Panther Trail.
Placing 10th overall was Meagan Smith, who finished with an overall time of 17:42.5 and set a new PR with her performance. Rebekah Priddy was next to finish for the Racers, coming in 26th place with PR time of 18:15.3. Smith was also named to the All-OVC cross country second team.
"With season best by Bekah Priddy and Caroline Grogan, our number 2 and 3 runner, we showed a solid team effort that we can continue into Regionals as well as our future 2018 track season," said head coach Adam Kiesler.
The Racers will next compete at the NCAA Southeast regional in Earlysville, Va. On Friday, November 10.
