Racers Fall to APSU as Win Streak Ends

The Murray State volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Austin Peay Tuesday night at Racer Arena. Set scores went 25-21, 25-11 and 25-21. The loss snaps the Racers' 27-match regular season home winning streak, a mark that is a program record.
MSU (11-6, 3-2 OVC) hit a season-low .029 in the loss while the Governors (17-2, 5-0 OVC) hit .253. Both teams had five service aces in the match while the Racers committed six errors to APSU's five. The Govs also out-blocked the Racers 9-5.
Rachel Giustino led the Racers with eight kills on the night while Dacia Brown and Katirah Johnson had six each. Callie Anderton led MSU with 13 assists in the loss while Courtney Radle came off the bench to tally 12.
Alex Kaufmann led the Racers with nine digs on the night, Becca Fernandez chipped in with seven while Giustino had eight.
The Racers look to begin a new streak Saturday as Morehead State comes to town for a 2 p.m., contest inside Racer Arena.
