Auburn Wells – Football, Baseball, and Basketball, 1924-1929 (Deceased)
Auburn Wells played on Murray State’s first football and basketball teams.
He was a standout punter on the football squad under coach Carlisle Cutchin and was a guard for the basketball team.
From 1924 to 1929, Wells earned 11 varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball.
Wells returned to MSU after World War II and taught political science until retirement in 1972.
An active MSU supporter, Wells was given the University’s Golden Horseshoe Award for alumni achievement in 1987. (The Murray State News, October 28, 1994, By Scott Nanney)
