As fans and alumni returned to Murray for Homecoming weekend on Friday, Oct. 17, several members of the Murray State football team joined head coach Joe Pannunzio by playing pool and visiting with many of the people at the Weaks Senior Citizens Center in Murray.
Pannunzio, along with 10 Racer football players, spent some valuable time talking and playing pool with the residents.
"We really had a great time with the folks at the Weaks Center," said fourth-year MSU head coach Joe Pannunzio. "I hope we provided as much fun and enjoyment for the great people there as they did for us."
The visit to the Weaks Center was the latest in an on-going program allowing the MSU student-athletes and coaches to visit with people throughout the community.
"The people of Murray have been so good to, not only our football program, but our athletic department as a whole," Pannunzio said. "We really enjoy the chance to go out in the community and spend some time with all of the great people in Murray and all the surrounding areas."
The MSU football team will travel to Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Saturday to take on Southeast Missouri State at 6 p.m. before returning home to host Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 1 at 1:30 p.m. at Roy Stewart Stadium.
