Three Racers Finish In The Top 10 At APSU's Precept Intercollegiate

Freshman Michael Craft earned a sixth-place individual finish while leading the Murray State Racers to fourth place overall at the 10-team Precept Intercollegiate concluded today at the Clarksville (Tenn.) Country Club.
The Racers finished the two-day event with a 302 - 299 = 601, just four shots behind Tennessee Tech in second with a 597 and three shots behind third-place Samford. The host Austin Peay Governors won the team title with a two-day total of 590.
Craft, a native of Paducah, Ky., finished tied for sixth in the field of 50 golfers after firing a 5-over-par, 76 - 73 = 149 at the 6,815-yard course.
Fellow freshman Nicholas Griffen shot a 73 - 77 = 150, while sophomore Will Cox fired a 77 - 73 = 150 to finish tied for ninth overall.
Sophomore Kyle Shirley earned a tie for 19th after shooting a 76 - 77 = 153, while sophomore Jamie Frazier tied for 24th with a 78 - 76 = 154.
The MSU men's and women's teams combined for a two-day total of 1212, which was good enough to earn the combined team title at the Precept.
This was MSU's final event of the fall season.
