Lady Racers Unveiled At 'Fan Jam'

The 2003-04 Murray State women's basketball team was unveiled at "Fan Jam" tonight at the Regional Special Events Center in Murray, Ky.
The evening opened with the introduction of the team and coaches and was followed by first-year head Joi Williams addressing the MSU crowd.
The Lady Racers also entertained the crowd with several warm-up drills and an eight-minute Blue-White scrimmage.
Following the introduction of the MSU men's team, four pairs of teams competed in a 3-point shootout where Lady Racer freshman Ashley Hayes teamed with Racer senior Chris Shumate to make 20 three-pointers, 10 each in :30 seconds. Lady Racer senior Jenny Bowden (9) and Racer junior Adam Chiles (10) finished a close second with 19 makes.
The MSU men closed out the action on the floor with several full-court drills, followed by a 20-minute, Blue-White scrimmage.
Fans were then allowed to meet and greet with the Racers and Lady Racers for an autograph session and free schedule posters were given to everyone.
The MSU Lady Racers will open the 2003-04 exhibition season on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Regional Special Events Center against the St. Louis Gold Stars. The MSU regular-season home-opener is set for Nov. 29 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 12:30 p.m. at the RSEC.
