Thomas found Robertson streaking to the middle of the box for the game winning goal in the 107th minute of action on the 82-degree day in Murray.
"I'm really happy that we were able to get a win for our seniors in their last game," said fourth-year head coach Mike Minielli. "We really struggled more than we should have today, but our seniors found a way to win it."
After the two teams played a scoreless first half, the Racers (6-10-3, 3-5-0 OVC) opened the scoring as Thomas scored her sixth goal of the season, and the 25th of her career at MSU, on an assist from forward Theresa Reedy in the 68th minute of action.
The Eagles (2-13-1, 0-8-0 OVC) came right back to even things up at 1-1 in the 70th minute as Elise Wahlstrom scored from five yards out on an assist from Ivy Oddis.
After the two teams battled through the first overtime, the Racers fired three shots in the second extra frame closed out by Robertson's fifth goal of the year.
Murray outshot Morehead 16-5, including 12-2 on shots on-goal.
Robertson and Thomas were joined by Abby Baden, Lauren Bazzell, Michelle Fedor, Karen Fitzharris, Lindsey Gustafson and Emily Schaller by being honored prior to the game as a part of the Senior Day activities at MSU.
All eight players are set to graduate from MSU prior to next season and will not return to play soccer in 2004. Baden, Bazzell, Robertson and Thomas are only juniors in terms of NCAA eligibility due to redshirt years, but all four have chosen to move on to their chosen fields of profession or attend graduate school.
"I'm very proud of this group of seniors," Minielli said. "They've done so many good things in the classroom, around the community and on the soccer field. I couldn't have asked for anything else out of a group to build a program around."
The win closes out the fourth varsity season of soccer at Murray State, and seven of the eight senior honorees were a part of the Racers' first season in 2000.
