Eight Racers Earn OVC Medal Of Honor, 87 Make OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll

Earning the 2002-03 OVC Medal of Honor were Stewart Childress, football, 4.00 grade-point average for the 2002-03 school year; Ashley Kelbough, women's golf, 4.00; Shauna Kline, women's soccer, 4.00; Garrett Middleton, men's track and field, 4.00; Eleanor Reed, women's volleyball, 4.00; Rebecca Remington, women's basketball, 4.00; Brooke Royer, women's soccer, 4.00; and Devin Wilbur, men's cross country and men's track and field (two sports), 4.00.
Remington, a sophomore, earned her second OVC Medal of Honor.
Some 72 student-athletes across the league earned the OVC Medal of Honor, with 70 achieving perfect 4.00 GPAs. Many sports had several student-athletes earn the award, with women's track and field being the most prolific, with 14 student-athletes claiming perfect 4.00s.
The OVC announced that more than 600 student-athletes were named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll, with 87 of those coming from Murray State. Athletes earned Honor Roll recognition with a grade-point average of 3.25 or better.
Soccer had the most honorees with 74, and Murray State soccer had the most honorees for any team in a specific sport with 17.
