Paducah Freshman Golfer Leads Racers To Fourth-Place Finish

In just his second collegiate golf tournament, Murray State freshman Michael Craft fired a final round even-par 72 to finish tied for seventh at Monday and Tuesday's Gulf Coast Collegiate Classic in Bay St. Louis, Miss.
Craft led the Racers to a fourth-place finish in the 11-team tournament, played at The Bridges Golf Resort. Fellow Ohio Valley Conference member Tennessee State won the event with a two-round score of 586, 17 shots ahead of the Racers (603).
Craft shot a 36-hole score of 74-72 - 146 to tie two other golfers for seventh in the field of 61. The Paducah, Ky., native was just six shots off the first-place total of 140 carded by Tennessee State's Robert Dinwiddie.
Jamie Frazier, a sophomore from Glasgow, Ky., shot 76-74 - 150 to finish tied for 12th, while fellow sophomore Kyle Shirley fired a 77-76 - 153 to finish tied for 19th. Nicholas Griffen shot 77-77 - 154 to finish tied for 27th and Paducah sophomore Will Cox finished tied for 48th with a 79-81 -160.
