Lady Racers Finish Third At Louisville Cardinal Cup

The Murray State Lady Racers earned a third-place finish today at the 11-team Louisville Cardinal Cup hosted by the University of Louisville at the Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, Ky.
MSU, the reigning back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference champions, shot a 318 - 304 - 323 = 945 in the three-round event.
East Carolina won the team title with a total of 926, followed by the host Cardinals in second with a 943. Fellow OVC members, Eastern Kentucky (6th, 976) and Austin Peay (10th, 1031) also competed in the event.
MSU junior Santie Koch led the way for the Racers with a sixth-place finish after shooting a 78 - 75 - 77 = 230 on the par-72, 6,159-yard course.
Junior Lee-Anne Pace, the 2003 OVC Player of the Year, finished tied for seventh with an 82 - 71 - 79 = 232, while junior Nikki Orazine shot a 79 - 78 - 83 - 240 to finish tied for 13th.
Senior Cuyler Hedley, the 2002 OVC Player of the Year, returned to tournament action after missing all of last spring with an injury and finished tied for 17th with a 79 - 80 - 84 = 243. Junior Ashley Kelbough finished tied for 46th with an 87 - 86 - 84 = 257.
Up next, the Lady Racers will compete in the Jacksonville State Lady Gamecock Fall Classic on Oct. 6-7 in Jacksonville, Ala.
