Murray State head coach Rob McDonald will be a guest speaker at the state convention of the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association, held in Louisville on Jan. 16 and 17.
McDonald -- beginning his first season at Murray State -- will join collegiate coaches John Cohen of Kentucky and Steve Smith of Baylor at the convention. McDonald will speak at two sessions at Louisville's Executive Inn on catching techniques, fundamentals and drills.
"I think it's a nice honor," McDonald said. "This is very good for Murray State baseball, since most of the state's high school baseball coaches will be there. Last year, they had around 300 coaches. It's great exposure for our program and something I enjoy doing, speaking at clinics."
Murray State opens its 2004 season on Feb. 20 at Alabama-Birmingham.
