Murray State women's golf head coach Velvet Milkman has announced the addition of Camilla Loeveid for the Lady Racers' upcoming 2004 spring season.
Loeveid, a native of Oslo, Norway, arrives at MSU with a wealth of international experience while competing as an amateur. She will be a freshman this spring at MSU and will be eligible to compete immediately.
"We're excited to have Camilla join our team," said Milkman, the five-time Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year. "She is a solid player with international experience, and she should help to provide depth in our lineup.
"In addition, she is an excellent student. I anticipate her having a wonderful career at Murray State."
Loeveid, who attended high school at Oslo Handelsgymnasium, was ranked fourth on the Norwegian Ladies National Order of Merit in 2002 and earned an 11th-place finish at the 2001 Greek Open Amateur Championship.
After winning the 2000 Norwegian Junior Championship, Loeveid was also selected to represent Norway in The Spirit, International Amateur Golf Championship in 2001.
MSU will begin the march to defending its back-to-back 2002 and 2003 OVC titles at the Marshall Lady Herd / El Diablo Intercollegiate in Ocala, Fla., on March 15-16.
