Racer Nation invited to FanJam

Practice started last weekend, and that means the basketball season for the Lady Racers is just around the corner.
One of the events that gets the season going is FanJam. Racer fans are invited to attend this season's opening event Tuesday at the Regional Special Events Center. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m., and admission is free.
The evening gets going with a scrimmage involving the Lady Racers. Head coach Joi Felton will showcase her second squad, led by two seniors, Rebecca Remington and Kaleena Miller. The Lady Racers have seven newcomers, including four freshmen.
After the Lady Racers finish, the men's team takes the floor. Fans will need a scorecard, because the Racers have no fewer than 12 new faces. Senior Adam Chiles and sophomores Shawn Witherspoon and T.J. Wolf are the only players returning who saw action last season. Juniors Pearson Griffith and Keith Jenifer plus sophomore Trey Pearson are familar to Racer fans, but they sat out last season.
After the teams scrimmage, fans are invited to meet the players and coaches for an autograph session.
The Lady Racers and Racers play their first exhibition games on Saturday, Nov. 6. The Lady Racers host the St. Louis GoldStar at 5:15 p.m., and the Racers host VASDA at 7:15 p.m.
