Racers shut Vanderbilt out

"We started racing at 12:30 p.m. and finished around 4 p.m.," said MSU head coach Bill McLean. "In the first few races, we raced in a heavy downpour with a slight tail wind, and the last four races had light to no rain and flat water conditions."
Men's and women's races were held in the meet.
In the varsity eight race, Murray State finished the mile-long course in 5 minutes, 12.6 seconds, 6.7 seconds faster than the Vanderbilt boat.
In the varsity fours, Murray State's "A" boat finished the course in 6:14.3, while the MSU "B" boat finished in 6:24.8. The Vanderbilt "A" boat finished in 6:42.3, while the Vandy "B" boat finished in 6:55.
In the novice eights, MSU "A" won with a time of 5:50, followed by Vanderbilt "A" at 6:42.5 and Vandy "B" at 6:49.1.
In the novice fours, MSU "A" won with a time of 6:29.7, followed by Vanderbilt "A" at 7:00.7, MSU "B" at 7:01.7 and Vandy "B" at 7:08.6.
Murray State will next compete in the Head of the Tennessee race in Oak Ridge, Tenn., on Saturday.
