Racers fall at IUPUI 3-0, prepare for OVC tournament game

At IUPUI, Murray State (7-10-1) trailed 1-0 in the second half when the Jaguars scored two goals within 6-1/2 minutes of each other for the 3-0 final.
Senior forward Theresa Reedy led all players with six shots, and she and freshman midfielder Jaclyn Ramage had a co-game-high two shots on goal.
For IUPUI (10-7-0), four players had three shots, while Angie Pilat, who scored the first goal of the game in the 24th minute, had two shots on goal. Other Jaguar scores came from Samantha Sliney in the 72 minute and Kathryn Reuter in the 78th minute.
In goal, MSU's Heather Jones (1-4-0) turned away five saves in playing all 90 minutes in goal. IUPUI's Sarah Webster (3-1-0) turned away eight saves in getting the shutout.
Murray State now prepares for its first post-season action since 2001, as the Racers have the No. 3 seed in the OVC Championship Tournament. MSU will face No. 6 seed Southeast Missouri State on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Cutchin Field in the first home post-season soccer game in school history.
The winner of that game will meet No. 2 Eastern Illinois on Friday, Nov. 5, at 4 p.m. at Samford's Bulldog Field in Birmingham, Ala., with the championship game being played on Sunday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m.
