Tyler Owen to play for 'Breds

Tyler Owen, a third baseman from North High School in Evansville, Ind., has committed to play for the Murray State Thoroughbreds.
Owen led his high school squad in hitting last spring with a .400 average. He was selected all-conference at North last season.
In the summer, he played for former Thoroughbred Ben Garland on the Eugene Pate American Legion squad, where he batted .421.
"Tyler will give us some help from the left side of the plate," said MSU head coach Rob McDonald. "He's a tremendously competitive young man, and he's going to fit in well into our program."
