Racers Add Three More Signees During Spring Signing Period

Murray State soccer head coach Mike Minielli announced the signing of three more student-athletes to national letters of intent increasing the Racers' 2004 recruiting class to eight signees during the spring signing period.

Minielli, entering his fifth season as the Racers' only head coach since its first varsity campaign in 2000, has added Kara Carlisle and Holli Cato from Central High School in Evansville, Ind., and Jaclyn Ramage of Marquette High School in Chesterfield, Mo.

The latest signees join Courtney Buchanan, Jenna Kirkpatrick, Frankie Maynard, Sara Struve and Molly Wolfe as a part of the Racers' 2004 recruiting class.

"We're really pleased with the way this recruiting class is shaping up," Minielli said. "We had some very specific needs we wanted to address, and we feel like we're filling those needs with some very capable and talented players.

"With Kara, Holli and Jaclyn, we feel like we've taken another very positive step in the continued improvement of our program."

Minielli said he still hopes to sign several more players in the coming days as the Racers look to replace eight seniors from last year's squad.

"Kara is a major signing for us. She can play multiple positions and will see time up front and in the midfield. She's a very smooth player on the ball, and she fits our needs perfectly to replace our top graduating players."

-- Holli Cato

"Holli gives us some quality depth at the goalkeeper position. She adds some real stability in that position for the next four years."

-- Jaclyn Ramage

"Jaclyn fills our needs at wing-mid, but she also has the size and strength to play up front. She comes from the Busch Club team and will be ready for the college level."
