Racers Compete At Prestigious Indiana Invitational

The Murray State men's track and field team continued its preparation for the Ohio Valley Conference Championships at the prestigious Indiana Invitational this weekend hosted by Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.
Leading the way for the Racers in the two-day event, which was an unscored meet, was senior thrower Garrett Middleton of Nashville, Ill., with a ninth-place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 49-08.25.
Other top-15 finishers for the Racers were:
Jeremy Burkeen, 11th, 5,000-meter run, 15:26.86; Tim Bradley, 14th, 5,000-meter run, 15:35.21; Brandon Lancaster, 14th, 1-mile run, 4:45.59; Demetrick Westbrook, 14th, 60-meter hurdle prelims, 8.41; Brian Edwards, ninth, pole vault, 13-01.50;
Up next, the Racers compete at the Southeast Invitational hosted by Southeast Missouri in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on Feb. 20 in their final event before the 2004 OVC Indoor Championships in Charleston, Ill. on Feb. 28-March 1.
