Racers Win Three Event Titles At TSU's Boston-Moon Classic

The Murray State men's track and field team won three event titles at this weekend's unscored Boston-Moon Classic hosted by Tennessee State in Nashville.
Junior distance runner Tim Bradley won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8 minutes, 59.29 seconds to lead the way for MSU. Sophomore thrower Derek Sargent won the javelin throw with a distance of 176 feet, 10 inches, while freshman distance runner Wesley Korir continued his strong spring season with a first-place time of 9:35.04 in the 3,000-meter steeple chase.
Freshman thrower Chris Champion also had a solid meet with a pair of second-place finishes in the discus (128-03) and javelin (148-03).
Other top-10 finishers for MSU included:

Elrington, fourth, 100-meter dash, 11.68; Matt Ernsting, sixth, 100-meter dash, 12.17; Matt Ernsting, eighth, 200-meter dash, 24.11; Ryan Stichter, second, 800-meter run, 1:57.62; Matt Hebert, seventh, 800-meter run, 2:07.95; Brandon Lancaster, fourth, 1,500-meter run, 4:10.97; Jeremy Burkeen, third, 3,000-meter run, 9:14.60; Derek Sargent, seventh, discus, 105-06; Chris Champion, third, hammer, 118-05.50; Chris Hobbs, second, high jump, 6-04; Patrick Hammond, third, 3,000-meter steeplechase, 10:33.42.
