Murray State women's golfer Cuyler Hedley was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Golfer of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Hedley, a senior from Cobourg, Ontario, won this week's Big River Telephone Lady Racer Classic in Murray. She shot rounds of 71-79-75 to card a 54-hole score of 225 to lead the field of 68 golfers. She led the Lady Racers to a runner-up finish, just one stroke behind tournament champion Kentucky.
"Right now, Cuyler's playing the best golf I've ever seen her play," said Lady Racer head coach Velvet Milkman. "She's workd so hard to get to this point and it's good to see all that hard work pay off with some great golf."
Hedley was named OVC Golfer of the Week last week after finishing second at the Saluki Invitational. She has a per-round stroke average of 77.0 which is second in the OVC.
The Lady Racers, winners of the last two Ohio Valley Conference titles, will next compete in the EKU Lady Colonel Classic on April 15-17 in Richmond, Ky., in their final prep for the upcoming OVC Championships on April 26-28 at the Country Club of Paducah (Ky.).
