The Murray State women's tennis match against Ohio Valley Conference rival Tennessee-Martin was suspended this afternoon due to rain. The teams were able to get in their doubles matches before the rains washed out the remainder of the match.
Murray State (13-5, 5-0 OVC) remained perfect in OVC doubles play, sweeping the three matches. The Racers are 18-0 in league doubles play, 28-2 (.933) in OVC singles action.
In today's doubles matches, Anna and Rachael Lask teamed to win at No. 1 doubles over Ana Bakran and Eleanor Shearman 8-6, while Jaclyn Leeper and Melissa Spencer won at No. 2 doubles over Katrina Domela and Sari Nortje 8-4, and Casady Pruitt and Jennifer Ward won at No. 3 doubles over Jeanne De Wet and Gayatri Ramesh 9-8. MSU won the doubles point 3-0.
The teams will play the singles portion of this match on Monday at 4 p.m. at the Purcell Tennis Courts on the campus of Murray State.
The Racers have a full load of competition this week, taking on Eastern Illinois tomorrow (Thursday) at 3 p.m., Samford on Friday at 2:30 p.m. and Jacksonville State on Saturday at 9 a.m. The conclusion of the Tennessee-Martin match will be the final regular-season competition prior to the OVC Championship on April 16-18.
