Kirksey decides to leave 'Breds

Citing disappointment in his playing time at first base, junior first baseman Geoff Kirksey has decided to leave the Murray State Thoroughbreds baseball team.

Kirksey, a 6-foot junior from Paducah, Ky., informed head coach Rob McDonald of his decision yesterday, saying he was disappointed in his lack of playing time at first base.

Kirksey started in 26 of MSU's 27 games to date, playing first base in 20 and starting at first base in 19 of those games. He also started at designated hitter in seven games for the 'Breds.
