With just nine days until the 2004 season kicks off, the Murray State Racers are working on cutting down on the small mistakes as the team improves in its pre-season practice.
"We're making way too many small mistakes," said head coach Joe Pannunzio. "Those add up to major things, so we want to eliminate those as much as possible.
"We're working on our kicking game, and that's coming along well. Morgan Riley is our kicker, and he seems to have stepped up. He's kicking the ball well for us.
"We're working hard to get ready for our scrimmage on Saturday," he said. "We're also getting ready for our Kids' Clinic."
The Racers will hold their second and final pre-season scrimmage on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the practice field behind Roy Stewart Stadium. Following that, at 4:15 p.m., the Racers will host a Kids Clinic, with exercises for the kids, and free autographed posters.
