Soccer opens 2004 season

Murray State returns 18 players, with 17 newcomers added to this year's roster. Last season, the Racers bade farewell to its first four-year players, Kristin Becker, Michelle Fedor, Karen Fitzharris, Lindsey Gustafson, Emily Schaller and Jackie Thomas, all of whom played from 2000 to 2003.
Western Kentucky comes to Cutchin Field with a 1-1-0 mark, having beaten Tennessee Tech 2-0 in Bowling Green on Aug. 17 and falling at Indiana 2-0 on Aug. 22.
The game against the Lady 'Toppers opens a nine-game home slate, with five of Murray State's OVC games being played at Cutchin Field.
Six seniors will play their final season for the Navy and Gold: Erin Blackman, Jill Hawanchak, Shawna Kline, Theresa Reedy, Jamie Roche and Geri Thompson. Lauren McAdams, likely injured for the season, is also participating in her final season for MSU.
