It's often said that one score can be the difference in winning and losing, and the Murray State women's soccer team saw another example of that axiom, dropping a defensive battle to Louisiana-Monroe 1-0 at the Skyhawk Invitational in Martin, Tenn., this afternoon.
The Lady Indians scored the sole goal of the game in the 29th minute when Megan Parella scored her first goal of the season on an unassisted score.
Sophomore goalkeeper Heather Jones made seven saves in the contest, turning away all ULM five shots on goal in the second half.
Murray State returns home for a match against Louisville on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at MSU's Cutchin Field.
