Reedy scores eighth goal of season but Racers fall in overtime 2-1

Reedy scored eight goals in 2001 and again in 2002, and is five goals behind the MSU record-holder for single-season goals, Jackie Thomas, who scored 13 in 2000. Reedy's 29 career goals is the most of any Racer soccer player.
Reedy opened the scoring in tonight's game, as Courtney Buchanan took a pass from Molly Wolfe and passed it along to Reedy in front of the goal, who popped it in from four yards out in the 34th minute.
Evansville struck in the second half, as Sarah Groves took a direct kick and planted it in the goal from 20 yards out in the 58th minute of the game.
With 1:15 left in the first overtime, Heidi Grey took a pass from Lindsey Ralph and booted it from 20 yards out over the head of MSU goalkeeper Heather Jones and into the goal for the game-winner.
Evansville outshot the Racers 15-13, with a 3-0 advantage in overtime. Both teams had six shots on goal.
Reedy took a team-high four shots, while Wolfe had two. Groves and Heidi each had a game-high five shots for UE.
Jones turned away three saves in the game, while Purple Aces goalie Whitney Raeon made five saves.
Murray State opens its Ohio Valley Conference schedule on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT at Morehead State.
