Racers fall at Louisville 7-0

The Murray State men's tennis team opened its Spring 2005 schedule on Friday with a 7-0 shutout loss at Louisville. The match was the season-opener for Murray State, while it was the second match of a season-opening double-header for Louisville (2-0).
In singles play, at No. 1 singles, Fadi Zamjoui fell to Slavko Radman 6-4, 6-4, while Yuri Pompeu lost at No. 2 singles to Damar Johnson 6-0, 6-2, and Jeff Lester fell at No. 3 singles to Jeremy Clark 6-0, 6-1. Craig Jacobs lost at No. 4 singles to Nicolas Hourd 6-0, 6-0, while Hunter Gerlach fell at No. 5 singles to Tony Teufel 6-0, 6-0, and Clayton Clark lost at No. 6 singles to Octavian Nicodin 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles play, Pompeu and Zamjoui lost at No. 1 doubles to Clark and Jakob Gustafsson 8-3 in the eight-game pro set, while Clark and Jacobs fell at No. 2 doubles to Johnson and Radman 8-2 and Gerlach and Lester lost at No. 3 doubles to Nicodim and Teufel 8-3, giving Louisville the doubles point by the score of 3-0.
Murray State visits Bloomington, Ind., on Jan. 29 to face host Indiana and Butler in a tri-match.
