Lady Racers tie for fourth in 14-team Lady Indian Classic

The Murray State women's golf team tied for fourth in the 14-team Lady Indian Classic, held at the par-72, 6,104-yard Sage Meadows Country Club in Jonesboro, Ark.

The Lady Racers shot a consistent 312-313 = 625, just eight shots behind team medalist Sam Houston State.

Christi Baron led MSU, tying for 15th in the 80-golfer tournament with a 76-80 = 156. Jennifer Heinz of Sam Houston State won the individual title with a 3-over-par 147.

Julie Bennett tied for 18th with a 157, while Ashley Kelbough tied for 21st at 158. Ilka Loubser tied for 28th at 159, while April Steenbergen placed 31st at 160 and Lauren Hughes tied for 39th at 163.

Murray State will next compete at the APSU Intercollegiate on Oct. 24-25 in Clarksville, Tenn.
