Homecoming events announced

The events begin with the annual Homecoming golf tournament at 8 a.m. on Friday. For more information on how to join the tournament, contact Darron Boatright at (270) 762-3369.
Also on the schedule for Friday is a home soccer game at Cutchin Field against Ohio Valley Conference rival Southeast Missouri at 3 p.m. This game marks the beginning of a four-game homestand for the Racers, who are tied for second place in the OVC standings, just one point behind the leader, the Eastern Illinois Panthers. The Racers have won five games in a row and are 5-2-0 in the OVC.
On Saturday, an M-Club breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. at the Curris Center Ballroom. The annual Homecoming parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Court Square in downtown Murray, and will continue west on Main Street, ending on the Murray State campus.
After the parade, an Old-Timers baseball game will be played at Reagan Field at 10:30 a.m., and admission is free.
Racer men's head basketball coach Mick Cronin has announced that he will hold a scrimmage as part of an open practice at approximately 11:30 a.m. in the Regional Special Events Center (RSEC). This will give Racer fans a chance to watch the OVC pre-season favorite.
The Racer volleyball team will suit up for OVC competition at Racer Arena at 1 p.m. against Tennessee Tech in the second game of a four-game homestand for the Racers. All this leads up to the home football game against Eastern Illinois at 3 p.m.
On Sunday, the soccer Racers will look to continue their momentum and gain ground on OVC leader Eastern Illinois, when they face the Panthers in their last regular-season OVC game at 1 p.m. on Cutchin Field.
