Murray State finished just two shots behind team titlist Western Illinois.
Michael Craft blazed the course in the final round with a 66, the best score by any golfer in a single round in the tournament. Craft tied for second in the 69-golfer tourney with a 73-75-66 = 214, just three shots behind individual medalist Anthony Michael of Oklahoma City University.
Will Cox placed fifth with a 71-74-70 = 215, while Kyle Shirley tied for 17th with a 77-75-69 = 221. Nick Griffin tied for 31st with a 78-75-73 = 226, while Jamie Frazier tied for 39th with a 72-83-75 = 230. Mitchell Moore golfed as an individual and tied for 31st with a 74-80-72 = 226.
Western Illinois won the tournament with an 868, while Murray State had an 870. Oklahoma City was third at 876, followed by Illinois State at 883, Southern Illinois at 884, Bradley at 888, host Missouri State at 896, Missouri-Kansas City at 899, Northern Iowa at 901, Tennessee-Martin at 904, Eastern Illinois at 925 and Creighton at 929.
Murray State closes out the fall portion of its schedule at the APSU Intercollegiate, played Oct. 24-25 at the Links at Novadell in Hopkinsville, Ky.
