Lady Racers place 14th at UK

The Murray State women's golf team struggled through its first two rounds and never quite recovered, finishing with a 14th-place finish at the Wildcat Fall Invitational on Oct. 1-2.

Murray State shot a 331-335-320 = 986 for the tournament, played at the par-72, 6,003-yard University Club in Lexington, Ky.

MSU was led by April Steenbergen, who shot a 79-82-78 = 239, while Ashley Kelbough shot an 80-82-83 = 245. Julie Bennett shot an 86-86-79 = 251, while Christi Baron shot an 86-86-80 = 252, and Bethany Yates shot an 87-85-90 = 262.

Murray State will next compete on Oct. 10-11 at the Lady Indian Classic at Jonesboro, Ark.
