South Dakota State Edges Racer Soccer On Senior Day

MSU falls to 7-10-2 in 2005 while the Jackrabbits improve to 5-12-1. The Racers will be in action again when they host a first round OVC Tournament game against Austin Peay on Tuesday, at 2:00 p.m., at Cutchin Field. Austin Peay (9-9-0, 6-4-0 OVC) is the tournament's fifth seed while Murray State earned the fourth seed after going 5-3-2 in league games.
"I think our focus and concentration today was on Tuesday's game and it showed," said Murray State Head Coach Mike Minielli. "We came out of this game healthy and that's the big thing."
Kerstyn Farrell staked South Dakota State to a 1-0 lead at the 26:43 mark when she scored on a deflected ball. Farrell sent her shot from 20 yards out high overtop of MSU goalkeeper Annie Fortier's reach. The score was the third of the season for Farrell.
The Jackrabbits took their 1-0 lead into the locker room at halftime and maintained the slim advantage midway through the second period. In the 72nd minute, sophomore Kiley Price tied the score for the Racers when she netted her first career goal. Price sent a rocket into the top right corner from 25 yards out.
Nearly five minutes later, Worcester knocked in the game-winner at the 76:27 mark.
Murray State held a 9-7 advantage in shots. A total of 25 Racers saw action in the final regular season home game of 2005. Jaclyn Ramage led MSU with two shots.
SDSU's Nicole Lograsso made five saves, including four in the second half, while logging 90 minutes in goal.
