ON RESULT OF VICTORY OVER AUSTIN PEAY ON SATURDAY: "I don't think you could put a figure on how much a win is worth in confidence. It helped a lot. Although it was a game we should have won, the win gives us some momentum. When you go into a game, you just hope you don't let them think they can win, and we did that early. We fumbled and they scored. They got an interception, but we managed to stop them on 4th-and-goal. Then, for two plays, we're just trying to get off our goal line and get to the half up 14-6. There's less than a minute left, and all of a sudden, Stevie (Chaney) breaks off a 97-yard run. So, at that point, we had it in check."
ON STEVIE CHANEY'S RECORD-SETTING PERFORMANCE: "When the half was over, someone said, 'Do you know he's 50 yards away from the school record?' Once the kids heard, they were fired up to get it. Then I said, 'We'll get the 50,' but once he got that, I was going to take him out, but then the Ohio Valley Conference record was in reach and he got it. I'm proud of Stevie. His mom has been away in Iraq since he was a junior (in high school). He knew early in the week that his mom was coming home and that had a smile on his face."
ON NEXT OPPONENT, TENNESSEE-MARTIN: "They had Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, and they outplayed them. It was 24-17 late. A few breaks and they would've won that game, so that tells me a lot about how good they are. They're mature, they're better, and now, they have done a great job in getting talent in there. It used to be you could line up and beat them up front, but not any longer. Tennessee-Martin is one of the best teams in the OVC. It's a 360-degree turnaround for a Thursday night game. We've had such good weather, so I bet it's raining Saturday!"
ON INJURIES: "Every time I think we've got guys close to being ready, they aren't. We have six or seven kids that will make us better if they can play."
