Racers are fourth after two rounds at Grub Mart/Young Oil tournament

The Murray State men's golf team is in fourth place after two rounds in the three-round Grub Mart/Young Oil Intercollegiate, played at the par-72, 6,822-yard Silver Lakes Golf Course in Jacksonville, Ala. The final round will be played tomorrow (Tuesday).
The tournament appears to be a warm-up of sorts for the upcoming Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, as eight of the 11 league teams are taking part in the 11-team tournament. The OVC Championship will be played April 18-20 in Decatur, Ala.
Host Jacksonville State leads the field with a two-round 566. Tennessee Tech is in second at 569, followed by Tennessee State at 576, Murray State at 582, Samford at 583, Southeast Missouri State at 586, Morehead State at 589, Lipscomb at 594, Jacksonvillle State's B-team at 595, Tennessee-Martin at 605, Stetson at 612 and Birmingham-Southern at 613.
Junior Kyle Shirley is tied four fourth in the 65-golfer meet with a 2-under-par 142, having golfed a 72 in the first round and a 70 in the second. He is just four shots behind co-leaders Julian Colmenares of Jacksonville State and Scott Stallings of Tennessee Tech, each with 6-under 138s.
Junior Jamie Frazier is tied for eighth with a 1-under 143, shooting a 3-under 69 in the second round. Freshman Jerry Price is tied for 30th at 148, while sophomore Michael Craft is tied for 39th at 151 and junior Will Cox is tied for 44th at 152.
