Lady Racers finish fifth at El Diablo

The Murray State women's golf team finished in fifth place at the 17-team Lady Herd/El Diablo Intercollegiate, held at the par-72, 5,942-yard El Diablo Golf and Country Club in Citrus Springs, Fla. Marshall hosted the tournament.
The Lady Racers shot a 317-320-316 = 953, finishing just seven shots behind second-place Marshall. Coastal Carolina wonthe meet with a three-round score of 908, followed by Marshall at 946, Western Carolina at 949, Florida Gulf Coast at 951, Murray State at 953, Illinois at 955, Ohio and Cincinnati tied at 958, Florida Atlantic at 959, Montana at 977, St. John's at 981, Boston College at 1000, Charleston Southern at 1009, Hartford at 1010, Dartmouth at 1012, Siena at 1020 and Cleveland State at 1051.
For Murray State, senior Nikki Orazine was third in the 98-golfer meet with a 228, just six shots behind first-place Katy Heher of Coastal Carolina. Ilka Loubser tied for 13th with a 235, while Santie Koch tied for 25th with a 241. Camilla Loeveid tied for 52nd with a 249, while April Steenbergen tied for 60th with a 253.
Murray State will next compete at the Salluki Invitational in Carbondale, Ill., on March 27-28.
