Racers prepare for OVC tourney

The Murray State men's tennis team dropped its final regular-season match 5-2 at Tennessee-Martin this afternoon, and now prepare for the Ohio Valley Conference Championship.
The tournament will be held April 15-17 at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, Tenn. The brackets will be revealed later this week.
At Tennessee-Martin, the Racers (4-13, 3-5 OVC) won two singles matches and took one of the three doubles matches.
In singles play, Fadi Zamjaoui won at No. 1 singles over Gustavo Anzola 6-3, 6-2, while Yuri Pompeu won at No. 3 singles over Ben Hatchwell 6-2, 7-5. Chris Morgan fell at No. 2 singles to Dirk Prinsloo 6-1, 6-1, while Jeff Lester lost at No. 4 singles to Daniel McGuire 7-5, 4-6, 6-1; Hunter Gerlach fell at No. 5 singles to Adolfo Anzola 3-6, 6-3, 7-6; and Craig Jacobs lost at No. 6 singles to Oltion Mollaymeri 6-0, 6-2.
In doubles play, Morgan and Zamjaoui won at No. 1 doubles over the Anzolas 8-5 in the eight-game pro set. Gerlach and Pompeu fell at No. 2 doubles to McGuire and Prinsloo 8-2, while Lester and Clayton Clark lost at No. 3 doubles to Mollaymeri and Chris Slabbert 8-6. UTM won the doubles point 2-1.
