Racers to compete for OVC title after beating Tennessee Tech 4-0

The Murray State Racers will compete for the 2005 Ohio Valley Conference women's tennis title tomorrow (Sunday) at 1:30 p.m. against Tennessee-Martin after beating Tennessee Tech 4-0 in the semifinal round this afternoon.
The O'Reilly's OVC Championship Tournament is being played at the Centennial Sportsplex in Nashville, Tenn.
Against Tennessee Tech, the Racers (14-6) won the doubles point, then won three singles matches to clinch the win.
In singles play, Anna Lask won at No. 1 singles over Marina Tashera 6-4, 6-2, while Jaclyn Leeper won at No. 2 singles over Alex Boonzaier 6-3, 6-2, and Jennifer Ward won at No. 3 singles over Melisa Cansado 7-5, 7-5.
In doubles play, Leeper and Anna Lask won at No. 2 doubles over Margaret Carter and Kay Ngiam 8-2 in the eight-game pro set, while Rachael Lask and Whitney Robards won at No. 3 doubles over Cansado and Maja Russinova 8-4.
Murray State won the women's tennis championships in 1984, 1987, 2001, 2002 and 2003. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic bid into the NCAA Championships.
