Racers in three-way tie for third after first round of OVC Champs

The Murray State men's golf team finds itself in a three-way tie for third place, just four shots behind leader Samford, after the first round of play at the three-round Ohio Valley Conference Championship.
The three-day tournament is being held at the par-72, 7,001-yard Burningtree Golf Course in Decatur, Ala.
Murray State shot a three-over-par 291 this afternoon, as did Eastern Kentucky and Southeast Missouri State.
Samford leads with a score of 287, followed by Austin Peay at 290. Tennessee Tech is in sixth place at 292, followed by Morehead State at 295, Jacksonville State at 298, Tennessee-Martin at 299, Tennessee State at 303 and Eastern Illinois at 304.
Jacksonville State is the defending champion.
Individually, Michael Craft and Jamie Frazier are tied for 10th in the 55-golfer tournament with an even-par 72, just four shots behind first-round leader Justin Metzger of Austin Peay. Kyle Shirley is tied for 17th with a 73, while Will Cox is tied for 21st with a 74 and Jerry Price is tied for 29th with a 75.
